Tim’s father, sailmaker Steve Sperry, designed the first-ever Sperry Tent. It was only natural that, after graduating from the University of Rochester and then sailing around the world as part of a crew of 4, which also included his brother, Matt, Tim helped turn Sperry Tents into an autonomous rental company from the ground up. Under his leadership as president, the company has grown from its original coastal MA rental office into a network of over 19 licensed rental providers across the country and abroad. Tim lives in Dartmouth, MA, with his wife Nikki and their three children, and the family sails and skis as often as possible.
A native of New Bedford, MA, Lauren moved to Marion, MA, 8 years ago when she married Mike Keirstead (a Sperry sales manager; bio below). She’s been on staff since 2006 and, as office manager, helps create amazing weddings for customers from the first planning call through to the big day’s setup. When she’s not working, she is typically either at Crossfit or reading on her patio with a glass of wine.
Having worked summers for Sperry off and on since 2001, Rob joined the company full time in 2011 and is now sales director and also regional manager for Greater Boston, South Shore MA, and Central/Western MA. His favorite part about the always hectic summer season is how the staff comes together to produce exceptional installs amid sometimes challenging circumstances. In his off-hours, he prefers any nature-related activity: landscaping, hiking, swimming, and exploring. Originally from Marion, MA, he now lives in Raynham, MA, with his wife and young son, and they are looking forward to another baby on the way.
As the regional manager for Cape Cod, South Coast MA, and Central/Northern RI, and with 13 years’ experience working for Sperry, Mike spends most of his time helping brides and grooms have the best weddings possible through creativity, imaginative thinking, and hard work. A resident of Marion, MA, since he was 5, he likes all things music, including going to shows and discovering new bands and singer/songwriters. He also carves out time for wine tastings and vacationing with his wife, Lauren, and reading and writing poetry.
Back in the ’90s, Jen used to work summers for her family’s company, sewing and repairing tents on the loft floor. Now, as marketing director, she directs its websites, social media, advertising, and publicity and provides marketing support to new providers. Previously, she worked as an editor in publishing and still likes reading magazines and books, particularly mysteries. Her other off-duty activities are anything wine related, fixing up her house, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
Brian has been director of operations since March 2009, and takes pride in working for an event industry leader. His job involves fostering a sense of teamwork among the numerous crew members, and, for him, the best reward is doing a great job for customers in honor of their most important life moments and celebrations. A RI native, he currently lives in MA and spends time with family and friends and skis in the well-earned off-season.
Since 2012, Jeremy has worked as a crew member for Sperry and was recently promoted to warehouse manager. He believes that tenting is all about teamwork and spends any spare time away from the warehouse relaxing with family.
An experienced crew chief and field manager, Tobey started with Sperry in 2002 and likes working outdoors at so many different scenic locations. Creating beautiful setups that help make customers’ events special is his specialty. Originally from Marion, MA, he currently lives in W. Bridgewater, MA, with his wife and two daughters, who are 1.5 and 3 years old. His spare time is fleeting but he likes to read, travel, and be outdoors.
CJ lives on the Cape and is now celebrating his six-year anniversary with Sperry. A reliable and dedicated crew chief, he likes being part of the company’s team atmosphere and plays hockey and golf when his schedule allows.
